It is no coincidence that a “mini project” taken on at the start of 2026 by Britain’s top pairing, Ben Lane and Sean Vendy, has reaped gilded rewards. It comes as the duo look to further break into the top echelons of men’s doubles and lift the sport’s profile in the UK ahead of the LA 2028 Olympics.

In January, sponsors vMobility Group helped the world No.8 duo - a career-high ranking for an English men's doubles pairing they achieved in the summer - to fund a personal coach in the form of the great Nathan Robertson, who is now in place up until LA 2028.

“It has been our best year on tour,” Lane tells The Badminton Report ahead of a packed autumn schedule as they chase a World Tour Finals berth.
