Rajvi Parab set for Youth Olympics as Team GB's sole badminton player

Rajvi Parab will be Britain’s sole badminton representative at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games (YOG) this month.

The British Olympic Association (BOA) has announced 15 athletes selected to represent Team GB for YOG.

Taking place in Senegal from 31 October to 13 November 2026, Dakar 2026 will be the first Olympic sporting event to be held on African soil, bringing together around 2,700 young athletes from across the world.

Regarded as one of Great Britain's most exciting young sporting talents, she trains with the Tripp Badminton Academy.

She already has an impressive CV after winning the Yonex All England Juniors title and last year’s women's singles gold medal at the European U17 Individual Championships in Spain.

Parab said: "This is my first multi-sport event, and I am so excited to get started! Getting my Team GB kit and meeting the team has made it feel real now and I am so proud to be representing Team GB for the first time."

Team GB's young athletes all aged between 14 and 18, will compete in 7 sports: archery, badminton, boxing, coastal rowing beach sprint, fencing, gymnastics, and sailing.
