Ben Lane knows that the “whole landscape of badminton on the world tour is changing” in 2027, but for now his and partner Sean Vendy’s focus is on a packed October and ranking points gained in order to qualify for the year-end World Tour Finals.

The world No.8 British pair face four tournaments in October, although all are in Europe. It includes the defence of their Arctic Open title - which they exited early this week - along with the Danish and French Opens.

The packed calendar means there is little time to prepare for the 3x15 scoring changes to hit the ground running in 2027. But Lane and Vendy are undeterred as to how much impact it will have on the doubled game.
